Re: merc 200 no fire
Welcome to iboats.

We need just a little more information, please. EFI, carbed, or OptiMax? Model year would be helpful too.

We can probably eliminate a few possibilities right away. 6 coils aren't going to go bad at the same time. Two switchboxes probably aren't going to go bad at the same time (slim possibility). Many models had separate windings in the stator for each switchbox, so if that applies to yours that shouldn't be it. If you had your stator replaced with a new Red stator, it could be that. It has three triggers in the same housing, they aren't all going to fail at the same time, so that won't be it.

So, let's recap. Possibilities include the main wiring harness, ignition switch, lanyard switch, certain stators. Let's eliminate the main wiring harness now. Disconnect it at the motor and jump the starter solenoid and see if you have any spark now. If so, then the problem is somewhere between the key and the motor. If not, it's at the motor. I hope this helps narrow it down a bit. The tests I mention mostly apply to carbed models and pre-2000 EFIs.
