merc 200 what sparkplug gap?

What do i set the sparkplug gap to?<br />I have a 2001 mercury 200 outboard, carb, saltwater. V6

dilweed,<br /> Do you have the plugs out?If not,you may have perma-gap sparkplugs installed,which are non-adjustable.What type and number plugs are installed?

I have NGK spark plugs, 6 of them. I do not have them out yet. I bought new ones. I'll take a look at them and see if they are adustable.

Dillweed, <br /><br />My Merc 200 Saltwater EFI (2002) uses the same plug. The gap is 0.04" (1 mm). I assume the gap would be the same. <br /><br />RJS

Look in the owners manual that came with the motor. Carb engine up to 2000 had surface gap plug non adjustable.
