My merc just developed a constant noise very similar to what an slipping fan belt would sound like on a car. It happens in and out of gear; at idle at upto 2000 rpm (until it's drown out by wind/water noise).
I can't quite tell where the noise is coming from on the motor.
I've searched on this forum, and i've heard similar problems reported on yamahas, but not mercs.
Where should i start?
