merc 260 rebuild OVERHEATING!!!!

LOL so heres my qustion,,, i have a aplha one with a new 350 complete rebuild droped it in and went to test fire and no water pumping thru engine??

1. oil & filter are new
2. ignition is all new
3. maifolds have been clend out
4. high risers have been cleand out
5. powersteeringand and raw seawater hose in good shape.. Ie: not pinched
6. test fire preformed in yard with muffs,

any insight with this guys would be great as i have been waiting all summer to hit the water....

Hows the water pump in the drive? I'd check that first. When you ran it in the yard were you getting water out the idle ports? How much pressure was the hose with the muffs turned to? Why did you have to remove the motor?
