merc 402 hydrofoils fins

Hi all new to boating , unsure in right topic forum. <br />Anyway here goes <br />just bought 12ft mini sportmans shakespear speed boat and merc 402 engine thinking of putting hydrofoil fins on it , what size ones . do i need them ,what do they do...Are they worth putting on.. <br />Thanks for your time <br />Red uk

Why are you thinking of putting them on at all if you don't know what they do? <br /><br />They provide some assistance in getting up on plane quicker - at the expence of some top end speed usually. They also aren't much help/fun if you're doing a lot of hard cornering.<br /><br />-W (doesn't use them)
