DOES THE POWERPAC REQUIRE 12 VOLTS FROM THE BATTERY AND IS IT THE RED WIRE THAT SHOULD HAVE THE 12V I PUT A NEW POWER PAC ON THE MOTOR AND IT WON'T FIRE THE POWER PAC IS A QUICKSILVER-#332-5772A-7;ENGINE TURNS OVER AND IS GETTING FUEL BUT WON'T FIRE???HELP

NO. if you hook it to 12 volts you will burn it up red & r\white blue &b\white are stator wire if you don't understand the system git a book or help parts are EXPENCIVE dont burn them up.

Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />Many public libraries have manuals. Give yours a try. That device isn't testable with regualrly available stuff. But the components that feed it can be tested with a conventional multimeter. The manual will show how to test them and what kind of readings you should get. If all the components test good, then it is logical to deduce that the switchbox (that's what Mercury calls it) is bad.<br /><br />Good luck and keep posting.
