My first outboard/boat.
Tinkering around looking at my motor, there is a pull cord located in the end of the case in a plastic bag. To use it if the electric starter failed, I would assume you would need to remove the top cover as well as the side wrapper type cover. Question... How do you get it OFF ????
It looks securely bolted, and is used to tilt the motor. Is there a release catch located somewhere, or do you just get the tool kit out in the middle of the ocean and start unbolting ?

When you pull off the front face plate by turning the black knob on the front, if you look at the top where the face plate snugs into there should be a latch that flips out and down that will release the top cowl. After you unhook the wrap around part. It cain be a pain, in the middle of the lake just make sure you hang on to it !
