I have a friend with a 1994 Merc 8 horse and he has a propeller I want to use - it's been balanced etc for racing small boats. And it's factory stock so I won't violate any rules.<br /><br />Well I found that the thrust washer bet ween the 1994 and 2003 engines is different, the top portion of the washer is 1" on his, and 1-3/8" on mine......<br /><br />Seems Merc doesn't want people using the old style props?<br /><br />The old style has a 1.5 times bigger exhaust port too, especially handy when I'm running at max RPM's non stop with the engine.......<br /><br />So I ordered up the Merc thrust washer and voila, the old prop fits the new engine just fine.<br /><br />Anyone had any dealings with this?
