Merc 888 missing water intake screen

When I pulled my 21' Regal from the water after last weekend I noticed that the lower unit seems to be missing the cover/screen over the cooling water intake. I had an overheating problem which I'm thinking is somehow related to the missing screen so I'm going to replace the lower unit water pump and the screen but I cannot find a part number for the screen. If someone could direct me to a part number for micro-fiche where I can find the part number I would appreciate it.

you will need to select the proper section of the drive when you get to the site link above

Without that screen, you can easily clog up your intake, damage your impeller & cause other restrictions....
Hopefully it is just the impeller......JK

hullofalottatrouble, that is definitely the part I'm talking about. Thanks for the link.

Haut Medoc, I hope it's just the impeller as well. I'll pull the thru-transome hose off the engine to make sure that there's water coming out and check everything I can find. Is there another screen somewhere or does the water and garbage flow uncontrollably thru the water jackets?? I really don't want to have to tear into the engine until the end of the season.

If you can point out places that I would look for restrictions, it would be very helpful. It looks like I'll be replacing the impeller on Friday and will check everything else while I'm there.
