I have a 2003 Merc 9.9 that has begun choking out when I turn the throttle from low speed to high. I have replaced the fuel and oil, and the plugs. By the way, marine stor was out ofr Champion plugs and gave me Autolite. Hope that's OK as have never heard of anyone using this brand. Also ran some carb and choke cleaner through the carb.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

carb and choke cleaner does nothing. the only way to clean the carbs, is to remove, disassemble, clean including removing all jets, and reassembly with a rebuild kit. sounds as if you have dirty high speed jets. once clean start adding seafoam to your fuel to keep the carb clean.

Many thanks. Good to know reliability of choke/carb cleaner. Shall try the re-build. Appreciate your input!
