Merc 9.9 Impeller Long Shaft

I have a new-to-me 2016 Merc 9.9 long shaft. Ready to replace the impeller. I am told that there are some "tricks" I need to know to do the long shaft. Any recommendations/experiences you can share?

Well, that is good news. So there is nothing that changes re: disconnecting the shift rod? I will have a go at it this week. Thanks!
