I installed new bellows on the outdrive last year and did not use the boat till last weekend. Nothing leaks but I seem to have a performance issue. Do I have an alingment problem or should I look elsewhere. To start the boat I cleaned the points and installed new plugs and she fired right up. But in the water I cannot get anywhere near WOT. Any ideas?
The carb was rebuilt last year, new alternator conversion, new starter, etc.

Re: merc alignment

May be a fuel flow issue, after sitting that long probably have some buildup inside carb. Heavy doses of fuel stabilizer need to be used when storing for a period of time to help prevent the buildup inside the bowl and jets. With a partial block, they will typically run at idle or low speeds
but when opened up not enough fuel will be delivered. It could be many issues but as long as it set
I would look at fuel delivery.

Re: merc alignment

Check your point dwell, does it change as the rpm increases?
