Merc manual confusion

Not sure which manual I need for the engine. I have a 2008 5.0L carved (TKS) with an Alpha 1 Gen 2 drive. I think I need #14 for the drive but I'm unsure if I need #24 or #31 for the engine.

Also where's the best place to buy? eBay seems spotty. I already downloaded electronic copies of both but I prefer having paper in the shop that I can dog-ear and make notes in.

Ayuh,.... You can always just Print it out, 'n go with a loose leaf binder,...

Ya, it's a thought, but at ~650 pages each, it's a good bit of printing to have the whole manual. Of course the alternative is to print only what I need. I may do that but I have all winter to think about it.

Manual No 24 is for GM Small Block 1998 - 2001
Manual No 31 is for 5.0 5.7 and 6.2 2001 - and UP also Serial numbers 0M300000

Could call Merc and ask what they want for the manual

The Mercruiser service manual part number you're looking for is 90-864260T00, it runs between $95.00 - $100.00 on average. Any Merc dealer should be able to order you one. This particular manual is not offered online for free.
