I understand that there are injection systems out there that have failed. I also understand that many have disconnected warning horns as well. I also know of MANY oil injection systems on older outboards (mine is an '86 and still kickin') that are working flawlessly still. As with anything mechanical, things can go wrong; as with many things human (forgetting to mix oil) things can go wrong as well. I have heard of far more human shortcomings in premix than oil injection failures. For those who feel more comfortable with premix, then by all means do so; just don't do it because of some supposed falliability of the oil injection system which is performing as it should.
