Merc trigger

Does anyone know what the trigger does ?<br />I had a corroded wire on my 85 merc 50 and I repaired it. The manual says is goes to the trigger. In can't tell if anything was affected by the repair. It starts and runs, and the Voltmeter sits up around 12v after not being run for a couple of weeks.

The trigger, like the trigger on a glock firearm, fires a shot to the switchbox when activated.<br />It's trigger-finger is a magnet in the flywheel for each cylinder.<br />It sounds to me like you fixed it.
