IS THERE ANY COMPANY THAT MAKES A REPLACEMENT CONTROL BOX. THE CONTROL BOX I HAVE HAS THE KEY,CHOKE AND TWO LEVERS ONE FOR THE SHIFT AND ONE FAST IDLE. I LOOKED AT THE UFLEX SIDE MOUNT DUAL LEVER BUT WAS HOPING SOMEONE HAS REPLACED ONE LIKE THIS BEFORE.

Re: MERCONTROL

Just about any control that is made today will work just fine. The biggest issue is cabling. Certain manufacturers use their own. So you have to match. Naturally, the electric harness is strictly Merc. But you can move yours to the dash. If new harnesses are still available, they'll be awfully expensive. The plug into the motor changed after that control.

Re: MERCONTROL

If you need a direct replacement there are a lot of used boxes out there in good shape and parts are still available to repair what you have

Re: MERCONTROL

I RAN THE BOAT AGAIN TODAY AND IT'S JUST NOT WORKING. I MOVE THE SHIFT HANDLE FORWARD ALL THE WAY AND THE MOTOR IS SLOW TO REV UP, IF I PUSH THE COLD START LEVER UP AT THE SAME TIME IT WORKS FINE. THE SHIFT LEVER IS ALSO VERY HARD TO MOVE, CABLES LOOK GOOD AND JUST OILED THEM LAST WEEK. WHAT COMPANY MAKE A CONTROL BOX THAT WILL USE THE TWO LEVERS AND THE SAME CABLES THAT I HAVE. I CAN MOUNT THE KEY AND THE CHOKE IN THE DASH, THAT'S NOT A PROPLEM. THANKS

Re: MERCONTROL

To use the cables you have it would have to be a mercury box

Open your controls box and check that your cams are properly installed and working smooth. Be carefull you don't lose the little cylinder and fits in a groove on one of the cams when it is in neitral position. If the cams are broke or worn, they can be replaced.
