mercruiser 110 sterndrive?!

I have a Aristocraft fitted with a 1965 mercruiser 110 and a mercruiser drive.
I have been looking on the drive but no serial number also I feel that the drive is incorrect.

As you can see from the pics the rams are missing but I don't have any trim switches or trim pumps on the boat, how is this to work?

The drive is free to lift up and I feel that if the boat is put into reverse the drive will just go up.

Any input would be great guys.
Any pic you have of you Mercruiser 110 setup would also help.

Thanks.

Re: mercruiser 110 sterndrive?!

Notice the row of holes along the bottom of the bell housing and the tilt pin. This sets your drive trim same as an outboard. There should also be a reverse lock mechanism like an outboard. To check put your drive in reverse and try to tilt up. They also used a steel twisted "S" hook through the eye on the top cap and it hooks in the top of the transom plate for trailering.

These early drive had no power tilt/trim.

Go up to the adults only sticky on this outdrive main page and get manual #1 it covers from 63 up, you'll need it. Looks like it's in pretty good shape for the vintage, cool! ;)
