Anyone have a remote oil filter setup on a mercruiser 120 ? Or better ideas for changing the oil filters in them? Also does anyone ever use a flushing agent to try to clean out the oil pan sediments? Thanx Mike

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...
It's easy to get to on the side of the motor, just loosen it, slip a plastic bag 'round it, 'n Spin it off....

As for Flushin',... Ya, 'bout 5 quarts of Fresh Oil is what I use.... ;)

Only if you can't get to the original filter does the remote make sense. On most 3.0L engines, finding a place to put a remote filter is more of a problem.

Thanx Don makes sense, I was after a way of thouroughly flushing out the lower pan oil, thinking a remote unit would enable me to hook up something for flushing out the Crancase, Like a small pump to flush some type solvent through the engine for thourough cleaning, SINCE the oil pan drains hard to get at. I appreciate youre time replying thankyou Mike
