Hello everyone, I have a 1996 Bluewater boat with 3.0 mericuiser. Started the other day just fine. Went to start it today and it just cranks. I sounds like it wants to start but won't. I've got fuel and spark, not sure where to look next??? I just bought the boat and it's my first. Any help would be appreciated.

have you set the choke and pumped the throttle when attempting to start?
If u were talking in car terms, I would know what ur saying. There is no choke to set, unless I play with it on the carb with my fingers. Throttle is neutral to start, can't pump the trottle while cranking. I have pumped the throttle a few time before I crank. This is what it looks like. Like I said, I'm brand new to anything boat.

i don't discuss cars on this forum

all mercruiser carbureted engines come with an oem choke that can be set when attempting to start. the remote handle ought to have a throttle only setting, again an oem feature
