Im currently rebuilding a Merc 3.0, MY 1990, and have some questions about the routing of the throttle cable. I aquired this boat as an abandoned project and i had to pick up the engine and sterndrive from the garage floor when i picked up the boat so i don't have any visual referance of how the throttle cable is routed to the carb. I notice a notch across the top of the valve cover inline with the throttle linkage so i assume it runs through there, but where does it connect to the actual boat at?? All i can see at the stern are the two shift cables from the control handle and the steering cable. Is the cable missing?? I have looked through a few manuals but cannot find good reference to the actual routing or fastening of the cable. I really need to see another boat with the same set-up to verify everything but cannot find one, and all the pics i find i can't really make out what's going on. If anyone has the same set-up as me and could snap a few pics of the layout of the throttle, (and shift), cables i would be forever in your debt!!
(Here's a pick of what i have so far to help you help me).
Thanks guys!!
