Hi everyone.

I have a customer with this SeaRay 180 with a Turn Key 3.0 Merc - The engines stall's a bit before it takes RPM, im thinking rebuilding the carb and maybe new spark cables and rotor.

Service is bran new, spark plugs, oil, filters.

Runs 4200 RPM WOT - thinking a bit to little but i would like to get the STALL away before changing prop.

what do you say:

Sounds like the accelerator pump in the carb to me.

I'd vote for accelerator pump as well, there are a couple holes in the pump linkage arm to adjust the shot volume. Closet one to pivot point is largest shot volume. Might be worth disconnecting the throttle cable and rev by hand to test out different postions and see the both pump nizzles are shooting a good stream into the bores.

Yes wot should be more like 4600-4800 when propped correctly. What's on there now a 21" pitch?
