you are missing a core plug

most likely from improper winterization

to fix, you will need to pull the manifold assembly, and install a new core plug....... then pray....... and pressure test to 15psi and hope you dont have a cracked block

however I see a crack just above the pan rail, so most likely a new motor

Thank you. I hope the block is not crack. I will investigate further. Thank you for you input.

is this a new to you boat? if yes, bring it back to the seller

if not, how did you winterize? because in the bottom right side of the picture, there is a crack with rust around it.

It’s my father in laws boat. I just bought it from him. Because we had a winter storm in Houston on February. I don’t see the crack… I will check again

if the boat wasnt not drained and properly winterized, the block is cracked

If there is no water in the oil, you got lucky. The crack is from the cooling passage outward, and not inward where the coolant or water will contaminate the oil. If no water is in the oil, you can seal the crack with epoxy. This repair might make it more difficult to sell the boat, but I will get you a few years on the water. Water in the oil means a new motor or block.

You could 'cold weld' the crack if it's only on the outside. That's a permanent fix, that leave a very small 'scar'.

I've successfully welded a broken starter motor mounting on a V6 block, so it can be done. Not easy, but doable.
