Mercruiser 470 efi cranks, won't start, uuughhh!

Hi All. Well, it's time to witerize the boat here in Alaska. Today, I went to start the engine and it cranked fine, but would not fire. Tried a shot of starting fluid but still 0. Finally I got a friend that knows more than me to come over. We replaced the rotor, ignition module and dist. cap. Module tested "no good". No change. Still wouldn't fire. The last time out - about a month ago - it was cantankerous about starting the first time. Wasn't getting fuel. Had to prime it with gas. Once it was started, I didn't have any problems till now. Please! Any ideas? Thanks!

Ayuh,... Never heard of a 470 with EFI,....
But anyways,...
It takes Fuel, Fire,+ Compression, All at the Right Time for a motor to run,...
Obviously, you're missing atleast 1 of them,+ Only you can look to see which is missing...

OOOPS! Sorry 'bout that! It's a 5.7. Must have been a bit of frustration when I posted that problem. Anyhow, There's no low pressure alarm when I turn on the key either. Used to be. I've tried a bit of gas down the throttle body throat too. Nothing. And, now with some more checking, it appears there's no spark. Fuel pump is on the front left of the engine.

Probably want to list more about your engine like year model.

Is your safety lanyard in place?

I would suggest you start a new thread, with a title that actually says what you have, along with model, year, SN if possible. Way too many people know there isn't any such thing as an EFI on a 470.
