I have a 1982 Mercruiser 470, and I've removed the front engine mount to replace the rubber bushing with a new one (part 32833). I'm having a heck of a time getting the old one to come out of the housing. I've taken a socket and have tried to hammer it out...I've also heated up the outside of the housing and re-tried to hammer out the old bushing. Any sage advice?

Ayuh,..... Do ya have the new part,..??

Burn out the old one, or use a press,.....

To install the new one, use a press, 'n spray it with Quicksilver Power Tune, just before ya press it in,.....

Thanks. I have a Bernzomatic yellow MAP gas bottle - hopefully that will generate enough heat. I assume you mean to use something like a MAPP gas to heat it up to be able to knock it out easily? I do have the new bushing - would have to take it it a shop to press it in...
