Mercruiser 5.7 alfa. when put in reverse rattles and shuts off ouits when warmed up.

when I put the motor in reverse It rattles and shuts of . It quits when it is warmed up. 5.7 Alfa merc.
Any idea what that might be? thanks

Shift interrupt switch.
Choke adjustment.

Lower shift cable and a high idle speed.
