Mercruiser 898 Firing Order

Hello everyone,

My husband recently replaced the distributor cap (among other things) and we now suspect we have the firing order wrong.

I thought I found a diagram for it online but it's still popping and backfiring a little. The boat is a '79 and we got it secondhand so we dont have a manual for it.

It is a Mercruiser 898 (chevy 305). Hoping someone can help me here!
