I have A 1986 glass master with a four cylinder Mercruiser. Tilt and trim was working fine after I changed 1 silenoid then it wouldn't work. I checked the fuse and everything was in order. When I jump the solenoid directly to the pump it works fine. I don't know if it's the connection in the throttle handle? Or somebody suggested that it could be the 3-wire rubber boot connection tends to go bad there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Need a volt meter and ring out the connections. The plug is a place for corrosion but switches go bad as well. Here is the new style but the wiring colors should be the same

AllDodge where do you get your diagrams from some look like they are out of old service school books but it would be nice to have these references in one digital location. Can I find these diagrams on a website or are they on a disk or something you got from MerCruiser? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

You can find the manuals here: http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html

They'll be in black and white (without the helpful coloring details in AllDodge's figures) but the service manuals are all there.

That and lots of other useful info can be referenced in the stickies at the top of this forum (the Adults Only) section.

Were getting off topic, but some our cut n paste out of the manuals I have, others I find during searches looking for other folks problems being posted. Many are right here in the iboats threads. Most can be found but not as many as before because all the manuals that other sites had were taken down.

ive got a 1987 with 4 cyl also, recently replaced solenoids, I can tell you in taking both off the "buss bar plate" fell off, I did not notice it when I put it back together.. scratching my head wondering why it was not working.. why? because the "buss bar" is the electrical connection to both solenoids. its a thin metal plate about 1 inch wide by 2 inches.. put that back on and worked fine..
