MERCRUISER MODEL 165 (2 BBL.) MERCURY 224 I/L4 1987
470 4 cylinder 3.7L just rebuilt the head from blown head gasket, was lossing water and come to find out it was dumping water on #1 cylinder, replaced the intake, exashuast, head, exashuast elbow gaskets. Had the head rebuilt, valves lapped, checked for cracks, surfaced it hole nine yards. Put it all back together, cranked right up, ran fine no over heating, no water leaking oil pressure was good, then out of no where motor dies will not crankshaft back up will try to bust off but not crank up fully. I have checked everything I can think of from wiring have 12v everywhere needed, getting gas, getting spark, TDC, cam is on the marks both valve where closed, distributor rotor was on the #1 mark in line with the #1 on the cap, no water in oil, oil pressure is reading 60psi plus not sure what is causing this need some help If anyone can. Also only other thing I haven't done is cylinder pressure test and leak down test was planing on doing that today.
