First of all 1992 Bayliner 2452 350 magnum Alpha 1 gen II
Is the raw water hose #4172533 a shaped hose or just a piece of heavy duty heater
hose as it looks to be in the illustrations?
What is the Sierra part # for bushing #816599 (local dealer will only sell in packs of 5)
Is the Sierra lower shift cable and boot kit of comparable quality to oem ?
Thanks in advance for any good advice :)

You may save a few dollars by purchasing non genine, but you will not get the same life out of the parts, and will end up doing the job again a lot sooner. Simple rule: Cheap parts aren't.

Re: Mercruiser parts questions

I am not looking for cheap, I am looking for reasonable prices which the local dealer does not seem to believe in, he would rather loose a sale than sell at a decent price. As for hose, Gates green stripe is about as close to indestructible as it comes. The bushing is for the gimble housing swivel. I would not consider anything except oem for the drive and exhaust bellows.

Yes, I checked out the online prices ,prefer to buy local but probably will end up going on line, just have to make sure brokerage and freight costs dont wipe out any savings

If, as you stated, the local dealer is price gorging, then you'll be buying 'out of area' anyway. Buy on line and save the fuel needed to drive shop to shop...
