Strange issue....1985 Mark Twain bowrider, bought it two years ago, had original stereo and speakers. I replaced both during this past winter and upon taking it out this year noticed the new speakers interfere with the throttle motion in forward. So, I put the old speaker back in that spot figuring the new one pertrudes from the flush-mount a bit more causing the problem. To my surprise, the old speaker also interferes! Crazy thing is, neither me nor my co-pilots (my kids) can remember for sure if it interfered last year before we changed speakers! I can only think I would have noticed it more, but it was all new to us so who knows. Unlikely it had this problem when built, I'd say, so maybe something was changed on the throttle?

Basically, the edge of the throttle handle is in contact with the speaker for 2-3 inches going forward. I don't care except it makes it hard to move thru that range creating "jolts" of speed or slowing. IF one is very careful and basically braces your hand against the speaker you can get it thru OK, but still rubbing.

Question: Any way to space the throttle away from the side panel by 1/2" or so? Is there a specer part out there? Can the angle be changed? Any other ideas?

yeah right.... don't count on that!!!

what do you have for a remote controll.... panel mount or side mount?
they make spacers for the side mounts.....
you don't want to be pulling on the handle, you'll just wreck the bushings inside it.
post a pic.
