I recently had a remanufactured enging installed in my 2002 Chaparral 243 Sunesta. The new engine has closed cooling and catalytic converters which required a wiring harness to be plugged directly into the batteries. The dealership doing the work was about as incompetent as they come as I was pointing out the problems to them before they could figure it out. Now that the engine is in and running I keep getting an audible alarm and the engine goes into guardian mode every time I try to get it up on plain. I took it back to the dealer once with this problem and they replace the sending unit on the power steering pump that was bad. I took it out again and had the same problem. I also noticed that the RPM gauge jumps up sometimes when I'm not giving it gas. Does the computer need to be cleared of error codes from the bad sending unit? I was also thinking I may have some type of electrical problem with the RPM gauge spiking like that. Any ideas what my problem is?
