Mercury 110 9.8hp thunderbolt what year / what spark plug

I am trying to find out what year this motor is ? What spark plug to use in it ? I also will be needing a prop since it is broke pretty bad. The tag has 2617726 , any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the serial # says it was made in 1969'. the original spark plug was a Champion L4J or an AC M42FF probably no longer made. cross reference for the equivalent

i have two merc 110 9.8hp and im having an extremly hard time finding serial numbers and years.....my older one has a stamped number on the head cover just below the lower spark plug 1019-2762, and a number on the side of the engine block 2239347...can n e one help so i can get a move on w my repairs?

These motors have a serial number tag on them attached near the powerhead. Once you know the serial number you can look up the year online at: http://www.marineengine.com/mfr/mercury_models.html . The following pic shows the typical location of the tag. Sometimes they put it on the starboard side.
