First of all, if you replaced your distributor belt, regardless if you think it moved or not, it needs to be timed. That is where I would start. If you keep running it, you WILL burn it up.

Re: Mercury 115 74 rpm loss

Hello thats what i thought too
why i brought it to a shop to have it timed n carbs looked at n adjusted
more to this story but didnt want to bring it to athree page story
i brought it to a place n had it looked at they said it was the control box but truthfully when i bought it the handle wasnt set right so neutral is back toward reverse rather than straight up why
they told me it was control box but my thinking was they would know to move the control arm forward n back when testin plus i told them when i dropped it off
also one of the cable brackets(throtle) was broken
told them about that to0
after the rippoff of that place i ordered the new bracket n was told my controlbox n cables were fine n almost new
so preceding to my same question
after reading all the posts on this page about stator n wires n everything figured they were not to badly priced so why not change
(reason for stator was a recent post about power loss was working fine n then dropped to 2k rpms in matter of one day out, also wasnt getting a charge on battery) but after i changed the stator
she got the power she used to have but no secondaries still:???
but since this all started with the over filling of oil in gas ratio now im thinking just to rebuild the carbs what you think could that much oil clog any jets???
thanksfor time n Help D
