Mercury 175 HP V-6, 2.5 liter, Serial # 0G042584

Hoping someone can help me out. Recently got a boat with the above motor on it. They had pulled carbs and had them rebuilt. Who ever pulled either lost part of the throttle lever hardware or switched something out. Have looked at countless diagrams and cant figure out what is missing or installed incorrectly. If any one has any pics of theirs or diagrams please help!!!

in tha mean time here's all ya parts breakdown for you motor... this is for your serial number which shows its a 175??? its strange 'cause it comes up as a 175 but tha parts list comes up as a 135???

all tha linkage should be tha same anyway.. both are fitted with wmh carbs soooooooooooooooo.. should be tha same.

Gee, Crowley shows it as a 1994 Merc 175HPV6, in the serial number look up. However, it shows it as a 1992 135HPV6 when the diagrams come up. A possible bug in the SW?

Maybe ebay or someone has one for you. I would expect there to be many of them on junk motors.

its gotta be a "glitch" of some kind.. MercNet shows as a 175 also..

That’s the issue I have been having none of diagrams I find seem to match what’s on boat. Been hoping some one has one and can send an actual pic of theirs

can you put up a picture of what you have on yours?...
as long as tha three pieces are a matched set, (carb roller, cam and linkage) go together as shown it should work no mater what hp it is...
