Im getting ready to buy an 86 merc 18 hp outboard. Does anyone know how much it weighs???? thanks ron

95# add 2# for long shaft and 5# for electric start

FYI...a few days ago, I weighed my 1985 25hp long shaft Merc. Manual start...
weighs 110 lbs.

I have a 15hp super mariner 17.9 cu in. (294cc) and it weighs in at 97 lbs (42 kg)

All I know is mine is heavy and awkward. That's why I always make my wife carry it.

I like that idea,,I may try that this weekend. Of course it would depend on how far it is from the truck to the boat. My wife weighs about 115# and the motor would weigh almost as much as she does.I just thought I was getting old, cause that damn thing is really heavy... LOL.
