Hi All. Well, I'll try again with better info. My 1997 Bayliner Ciera 2252 has the 5.7 efi engine. I went to winterize it this week and could not get it to start. It cranked and cranked, but would not fire. Poured a small shot of gas down the throttle body, but still nothing. A friend came by that knows more than me (that narrows it down!). He said it sounds like the ign module. We had it checked and it tested "no good". Replaced the dist cap and rotor at the time too. Still 0. One clue tho- when I went to start it, the low oil pressure alarm didn't sound off. No spark. Lanyard cord is in place on the shifter too. Can anyone get me pointed to the problem? Thank you for any ideas, Dave

Just because the lanyard cord is in place, doesn't mean that it hasn't "tripped" the switch. Remove the lanyard clip completely, and re-install. I'll bet you a nickel that your boat starts.

Just tried it and nothing. Any relation with the low oil pressure alarm not sounding off when the key is turned on?

You are going to need the manual. With no spark, you could have anything from the ignition switch to the distributor bad. Things like fuses, ignition relays, and all the connections could be the problem. Don't just start throwing parts at it till you find out why you don't have spark.
The manual (#17 up in the Adults only sticky) will have the info you need.
