Mercury 7.5 Spark Issues ?

i have a mercury 7.5 and im not getting any spark !
i put a test light on the wires that are bolted to the sides of the coils and
they are all hot ?

i bought the motor like this and the guy that owned it replaced the cdi box with a new one !

the coils are the red ones like the ones seen in the 4th pic on this listing !

The 7.5 use 3 or 4 different ign systems, start with a serial number if you need help.

it is a 1979 mercury 7.5

ok i took the coils off the motor and removed the rubber boots that protect
each coil
and one of the coils has a broken magnet
it is broke in 2 different places

so my question is ! where can i buy these coils at ?

i have searched the websites and no such luck

the coils are orange and the part numbers on each coil are below

# 339 5288 5 79

#339 5288 45 78


any help would be great !

339-5288T2 Mercury, there is not a after market coil available

ok i have new stator coils and ignition coils !
how do i change the coils on the stator ?
i dont want to break them when removing them
but it looks like a metal clip holds them on

Pry the top retainer clip up on the inside of the lamination and tap the coil off.

ok i got them off and put the new ones on !
and i also replaced my ignition coils and still no spark !
i also replaced the kill switch !

is there something im missing ?

do you have a diagram for the wiring so i know that everything is hooked up the correct way ?

It might be easier if you had a manual....thats if you don't have one now.

i believe your motor is a 1975 unless somebody changed the cowling cause i have a 110 and it looks EXACTLY the same and they changed their cowlings almost every year... i know that was their cowling in 79
ignition system is type IV. thunderbolt CD ignition pointless with a coil per cylinder

so your motor contains an ignition stator a trigger coil and a switch box

the motor you see in that ebay listing is not mine !
and when i said it looked like the one in the pic i meant the pic that
showed the orange coils !
my motor is a 79 mercury 7.5

and yes mine contains an ignition stator a trigger coil and a switch box
