In what position should Mercury f60 efi outboard be when transported in car? I tried to look from online manual but there was nothing about that.

Since it's not designed as a portable outboard I can understand why there's no info on laying it down in your car. You may need to drain the oil to lay it down on its side. If you're the one carrying it to and from the boat I'm not going to argue with you.

I thought that may be the case, just put something down underneath it so that the inevitable hidden pocket of liquid doesn't leave an oil slick in the car.

Dealer attached Mercury to this kind of rack. So it was finally quite a simple thing to transport. Oil was in the engine all the time and it stayed where is should. 20170406_155624.jpg
