You wouldn't normally change the number of blades to increase speed for every day operation.
If you have an original 2 blade from the factory most modern 3 blades will out perform it.
Very basically a 2 blade is supposed to be ideal for speed but are otherwise limited for performance.
A 3 blade will do better all around over a 2 blade of similar construction.
The 3 blade will likely push a load better get out of the hole faster,stay on plane better at reduced throttle
And probably have a little better slow speed control.
Todays state of the art al props have an edge over older props.
Props using the Squeeze casting technology have good performance.
