mercury recall of 2003 40 hp 4 stroke big foot -what recall?

G;day guys can any one shed any light on a recall mercury done on a fault where the pick up tube was being constricted by a faulty mismatch of metals,on the seal where it meets the power head ? and as i am the original owner am i still able to have this addressed under warranty,( where i originally bought the motor they went thru the hoop 3 years after i bought the motor) because even though i have replaced the water impeller,thermostat and flushed all the water lines and fed whipper snipper line up and down them my motor when first started will pump ok but 30 seconds and no more than a minute later the flow drops off to a dribble and the high temp alarm goes off -please help i am going nuts over this ,i cant understand the problem as i have babied this motor from day one and have flushed with ear muffs after every outing please help cheers andy

hi andy are you in aus im in sydney i may be able to help you with your prob ,it sounds like a restriction in water tube where it connects to the powerhead they have a rubber grommet that can melt over time there is away you can check it without removing power head if need more info give us a call on 0416638854 cheers dunc
