Need some help. I have a 1993 sea rayder 90 i bought about 3 weeks ago in pretty good cosmetic condition but it needed love on the inside since then i took down and rebuild the carbs they were all clogged and filthy all new fuel hoses filter, pump gasket and screen, New spark plugs, new fuel sender and gauge, wires for the lights, new bilge pump, switches fuses electrical connectors etc. But now im close to the end of the mini reconditioning. I go to put in the carbs and i attached the solenoid plunger the same way it came out and i noticed it doesnt close the flaps all the way only about 3/4. Can any of you post picture or let me know how it is attached on your boat, and also how to test the solenoid when it is supposed to actuate at which step. Thank you appreciate all input on this.

If the choke solenoid is held with a clamp, you may need to move the solenoid away from the plunger so the plunger and actually pull the choke closed. It is very likely bottoming in the solenoid before the choke closes. You test the choke solenoid by turning the key to RUN and pushing in on it. This activates the choke solenoid. It wither works or it doesn't. If it doesn't check the wiring first. If you measure 12 volts at the solenoid and it doesn't pull the choke closed, you need a solenoid.
