Mercury Throttle Adjustment Question?

I just put new throttle and shift cables on my boat and when you have the throttle (quicksilver) at WOT just the vibration makes it come back up. What kind of adjustment is there to tighten up the throttle. I have an 87' 50hp 4cyl with quicksilver throttle and quicksilver cables. Also if you push throttle all the way down the motor will bog down a little, if you back off just a bit it runs great?

There is a friction knob on the control box. Tighten it to hold the throttle in any position.

Check the front end of the control box. If there is no knob there, check for an adjustment screw. Tighten it to increase friction on the throttle lever.
