MERCURY TRACKER 60 ELPTO Model # 1060412RT:
What is the little rubber tube on the top of the lower unit for and where does the plastic connector connect to? I can find the parts in the manuals but it doesn't show where the other end connects nor could I find any reasonable place for it to go. Tube is about 1/4" diameter and 8" long.

Also could use some help identifying the part # for the shift slide (Item#26 of the Induction Manifold and Reed Block diagram in manual 817643R1). Mine works but is cracked!

The tube is used for the speedometer gauge on the boat as the speeedo gauge is activated by water pressure... Speedo Tube Connector, see item numbers 7, 8 and 9, http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/parts/571_250.cfm?mdl=PNDE2Q.

Here's a parts catalog for your engine model to help you find the shift slide you are referencing, http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/571.cfm?mdl=PNDE2Q

Thanks! Never thought of the speedometer. Makes sense. Parts manual is very handy. Couldn't find the part number on the ones I was looking at but I see it now. Much appreciated.
