It isn't a problem, it is by design. A certain number of keyboard characters must be entered before a post is accepted.

Quotes do not count so a quote and +1 isn't going to pass the test.

What??? So im not able to just say short answers or ideas,it always sends me to next page and all i typed is gone and i have to start again. If i go advanced it all goes well.

Can you take a screen shot of what exactly is happening? One that shows the message before you "submit". And one after?

I understand the frustration. It doesn't happen all the time but I have tried to post whole paragraphs before and the same message will show up . Does not happen very often . I'm sure it was something I did wrong . I think .. Or maybe just forum gremlins .

Edit: I did this as a test. I can't post less than three characters regardless of the quote box. I can't even edit it to fewer characters. So I am not sure how GA did his

Edit 2: Now I know. He added text formatting stuff...

Seriously, I think the authors of VBulletin added the code to cut down on post padding or possible spamming or for some type of security.

Glad you figured it out, QC. Next was a blank post - Toneees might have been called in for that. :lol:

For JJ, I used to have problems losing posts several years ago, and was doing to good ol' copy-n-paste thing to make sure if the site hosed up a post, I could post it back easily.

On JJ - What I've done that would drive me up the wall is type up a reply in the box and then click Reply on top of the reply box instead of Post Quick Reply on the bottom of the reply box. I think that's what I did.

Cancel part of that. I would click the blue Reply To Thread, not Reply on top of the box.

And one last edit. Sometimes when I click the blue Reply To Thread, I get a leave or stay confirmation. And sometimes I don't. The leave or stay pop-up seems to be inconsistent at times.
