Again the media putting their spin on things if you ask me. They show only the bad side of a result of being provoked. One thing for sure is that 50 years ago the N word was a used by very many and the F word was taboo. Now the F word is used without much insult while the N word is taboo and an insult.

The way things are going in this country, it won't be long before offending someone will be criminal.

if the man in the audience that started it all, would of showed some respect for the man on the stage and kept his mouth shut, there would not of been a problem.
If he didn't like the show, why didn't he just get up and leave instead of showing his a## and disrupting the show for others ?

What ever happened to freedom of speech? I personally don't like what he said, would never go see him (but then I wouldn't have paid to see him before this incident, so it doesn't really matter). Other guy started it, but Richards should have been man enough to drop it.

I dont know if anyone saw Good Morning America when they had the two boys on this morning, but their lawyer and them are already saying "monetary compensation". Also claiming Richards said and did other things the cameras didnt catch.

It wasn't illegal what he said.......getting your feelings hurt doesnt entitle you to money. Thats what this is all about. MONEY

I get tired of the double standards about who can call whom what. Where I work we have a good cross sections of the public working together. Everyone gets along just fine, everyone is respectful of others.

The other day I was working with one black man getting his machine into operation. Another black man from a supporting department was there also getting the machine back on line. The man from the supporting department told the operator (one of better operators) that, "Damn Jackson, if you would just keep yo' monkey butt on the machine we wouldn't be having this problem."

If I had used that line there would have been a serious altercation and I would have lost my job. In this case the operator kind of stiffened up but did not voice any objection to the term "monkey butt".

I wonder what would have been the result if I had filed a complaint of "Derogatory Racial Comments" with management?

If he would have been black and said the same thing it would have been laughed at by all and would have died in that room.

I see nothing wrong with what he said. It's free speech. If a black can do it, so can a white. I support him and his right to say what he wants. The only reason anything was made of this is because he was white. Period.

I've had to work around blacks enough to know they get more than their fair share. Don't even get me started.

I'll go watch him too. I am very racially sensitive. I have nothing against blacks or hispanics, nor buddists or jews. That being said I am a PROUD WHITE MAN. I am proud of I am and expect others like me to be proud of who they are. If you happen to be black I expect you to be proud of it. Same thing hispanic. I happen to be a flipflopper on religon. I mainly attend a Southern Bapist church when I go. That being said I also going to a Pentecostal church or a Luthern. I have nothing against a Jewish person, Jesus was a Jew.



Addressing Parrot Head: I work in a prison, been there almost 13 years now. During this time I moonlighted as a Peace Officer for the county then a small town for 9 years. I got to see lots of what you pointed out. If it would have been me then i would have been fired. I decided to play the race game with them. One day I pointed out to some coworkers that I didn't appreciate them calling each other nigger in my presence since racial epitats are a violation. They laughed about till I told them how serious I was. Truth be told at the time I was a little more sensitive on the issue than necc because of recent racial problems. I addressed this to my shift supervisor (who happened to be white) and he brushed me off. I addressed this to his supervisor (who happened to be hispanic) who also brushed me off. So now I'm fuming mad at the system. I take it to my head warden, white guy, and he also brushes me off, albeit with a little more kindness. A former warden of mine who is now really running things statewide (black guy) gets a letter from me, also written as anyamous sender but giving my unit, rank, and shift. He takes care of it. No more blacks calling blacks niggers at my job, at least not for a while. Its started back again so it might be time for another letter. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. They wanted equal rights so I'm just helping them get them.

Freedom of speech doesn't seem to apply to white people when it comes to race. Back to that PC is killing us. What he said was wrong with some folks, fine, get over it and get on with your life.

I have to disagree - - - Richards is a paid professional in the public eye. He knows that his behavior is held to a higher standard than say the local mechanic while both on and off the job. His knows that sort of behavior was unacceptable, yet he allowed himself to lose control. I think the loss of control, the poor response and lack of humor he displayed are far worse than the racist words he said.

The bottom line is Richards is not the professional we may have thought him to be.

He was not funny, he was not in control and he was not professional.

He has to accept the consequences for his actions. That may mean his career is trashed, or put on hold for a while. Either way, he will lose out.

I lost all respect for Richards. Instead of doing a pathetic attempt at an apology he should have stood by his words. He said what he said because he meant it. I don’t believe this “I was in a rage” stuff. It’s like Gibson blaming what he said on alcohol. The two guys were pissing him off and the real Richards came out. Those two guys were calling him "cracker" and other things yet that’s okay. I get so sick of this double standard. Blacks can call anyone whatever they chose and nothing happens. A white does it and they are looked upon as a racist. In my opinion blacks are the most racist people on the planet. They take no responsibility for their own actions and blame the white man for everything. Let's face it, they hate whites! Why is it if you drive through their neighborhood you are lucky you aren't shot? Yet, they can drive through our neighborhoods and not end up dead. Why is that?
