I did not say this SHOULD be the case. Yes techno, I knew where you were going with this, hence, the ?? after "apples and oranges," and the word "may" in the comment, "may be finished." Get it, it was a suggestion based on the feedback I have heard on the news regarding Hollywood and their view of MR. It was not my own opinion or view.

You asked; "I wonder how this Fine compares to the reprecussions that Michale Richards will suffer."

HE HAS BEEN BANNED BY THE COMEDY CLUBS HE HAS PERFORMED IN. Again, not my choice, it is Hollywoods. You asked the question, I gave an answer and it was not what I THOUGHT should happen. Rather, it is what IS HAPPENING. For you to try to link the two as though I am contradicting myself makes you appear to be the shallow thinker. MV, fined but still playing. Again not my choice. It is how they are viewed and what is currently accepted by us, the public.

Nobody called me to ask what they should do regarding MR or MV. Believe it or not techno, they chose the punishments for both, entirely on their own based on public backlash. You are as guilty of being part of the public as am I.

So you see oh "great" one, your perception of what you thought you understood, is flawed. You compared my opinion of MV to Hollywoods opinion of MR. Not an accurate comparison to say the least.:rolleyes: How about I take Al Sharpton's opinion and make it yours? Sounds fair enough to me. It follows your rules, anyway.

Talk about "shallow." WOW! :rolleyes:

OK, let's just stipulate that you are right and everybody else is wrong. I was not assigning your opinion to anybody to anything, or suggesting that Vick would win a Superbowl. I was asking for thouhgts on the acts of two individuals under similar stressful circumstances. Does putting the question in that light allow you to express a defintive analysis? If so, remove the question marks and make YOUR statement. YOU YOU DEMOCRAT YOU! :}
When some one writes something they are saying something about themselves, when someoneelse interprets what is written they say something about themselves. Political posturing or A covering not withstanding.

I think that players have a choice as to be role models or not when they sign the contract. All contracts have an ethics clause. Being ethical is one aspect of being a role model. If they don't think they can adhere to the constraints of the contract most of these men have college educations they can apply to the workplace just like the rest of us. With that said, todays modern fan who is paying hundreds of dollars (sickening) for the priviledge to sit in the stands for 3 hours or so seems to feel empowered to say or do anything they want. Some would call this Freedom of Speech. It isn't. It is symptomatic of the growing courseness of our society. It was once commonplace to see an injured player applauded when they get helped off regardless of the team they play for. Now we cheer the man who inflicts the injury. Fans now throw things at the players on the field, throw beer at them, curse like it will actually change things. They take personal shots at these athletes about not only their actions but their families.

I don't know much about Vick, but his brother is clearly troubled. But that has nothing to do with Michael. His spread VD is more serious a situation to me than flipping the bird. I see people using the bird on the highway everyday. If he had torn into a profane rant on camera I would have a different opinion. In fact if the news had not plastered this all over the place who would have known. And who cares? We don't know the whole situation just his reaction. Fans today are far more disgusting in their actions than most players on the field. I give Vick a pass on this one.
