From what I've found, IMO Mercury props have out performed Michigan props, on the boats I've had (outboard & I/O's) But, I don't know if the same applies to a Merc prop on an OMC engine (outboard, or I/O?) also, if you need a prop for a heavier boat, usually an I/O, that doesn't fall off plane as easilyy, and for holding a set speed better, the Michigan props are usually bigger in diameter, and do this better. I have have no experience with other brands.
