Milky oil in outdrive. Flush?

Looks like we blew the seal on the shifter mechanism in the outdrive Need to replace seal. Drained oil it was milky white. How to flush the remaining milky white oil. ? Is this necessary?
Any links to show how to replace seal would be awesome.

I flushed mine with diesel fuel. There is a decent video on youtube to change that seal.
