Minn Kota 74# bow mount locking up

Hi,<br />My minn Kota maxxum 24v bow mounted trolling (cable) motor lockes up when I try to use the foot control to turn it. If I manually turn it it eventually turns for me but it doesnt go easy even when using my hands. It feels like it is rusted shut or something. has this happened to anyone? anyone know how to fix it?<br />Thanks

It sounds like the cable might be frozen (if you're talking about rotating the powerhead and not the prop) Try elevating the foot control and spraying some penetrating oil in the cable opening and letting it soak overnight. Try to work it back and forth the next day/repeat. This might free it up. Worst case, you might need a new cable.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats.<br /><br /><br />spots
