minn kota trolling motor - only turns left!

i have a 46lb minn kota auto pilot trolling motor (bow mount)with a major problem. this unit now will only turn in a clockwise direction (left turn). i disassembled the foot control unit, but could find nothing that appeared to be wrong with the direction switch. any ideas?

I have a 48 lb thrust auto pilot which does the same thing. I tried a brand new pedal and that did not cure the problem. I believe it is the controller board that has a problem. Mine seems to work ok except when the unit gets wet (splashed or rained on).<br /><br />-John

I have the same problem with mine now. Can you tell me how you remedyed the problem? Did you replace the board or the whole unit? Thanks in advance

you are going to need a new controller board. They are pretty easy to replace yourself. If I remember right I paid just under $100 for a new one.
